On January 11, 2025, a very special workshop by and for us took place in the Dresden-Neustadt Synagogue. This internal workshop was aimed at our members, friends and interested parties and offered an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and cook together in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
A culinary experience with recipes by Otto Lenghi
The participants had the opportunity to try three delicious recipes from the famous chef Otto Lenghi . His creative approach to Jewish cuisine inspired us and increased our anticipation of cooking. The recipes were prepared together step by step and it was impressive to see how wonderful dishes were created from fresh ingredients. We had decided to choose dishes that none of us had prepared so that the success or failure together would be a lot of fun.
The recipes in detail
The recipes come from Otto Lenghi's cookbook Jerusalem .

Watercress soup with chickpeas, rose water & ras-el-hanout - slightly modified by us, a tasty soup as a starter.

Eggplant with chermoula, bulgur & yoghurt - a delicious oriental specialty with familiar and unknown flavors.
Mutabbaq - The perfect sweet ending to our workshop. A magical puff pastry creation with cream cheese and mascarpone.

A moment of reflection
After cooking, we gathered together to celebrate Havdalah . Guillaume led us through the blessings and songs in a very calm and thoughtful way. This traditional ritual marks the end of Shabbat and the beginning of a new week. It was a beautiful moment of reflection and community that brought us closer together.

A feast for all
After the workshop, the prepared food was served at a celebratory meal. The atmosphere was full of laughter, conversation and culinary delight. It was a wonderful opportunity to make new acquaintances and deepen old friendships.
